The smiling and bearded Ebisu is often depicted with a fishing rod in his right hand, and a large red sea bream (symbol of good luck in Japan) dangling from the line or tucked under his arms. Daikoku (Hindu Origin). Male. Daikoku usually wears a hood and stands on bales of rice, with a large treasure sack slung over his shoulder and his right hand holding a small magic mallet. Quality. The Daikoku piece is stained and cracked on its backside, and the right hand in front is missing the magic mallet. For the Ebisu piece, the flipper of the fish is slightly clipped; yet the fish scales are delightful to behold. Despite these problems, both pieces are truly wonderful
